Naina, Preity Zinta, an introverted, a perpetually depressed girl’s life changes when she meets Aman, Shah Rukh Khan. But Aman has a secret of his own which changes their lives forever. Embroiled in all this is Rohit, Naina’s best friend who conceals his love for her. This Indian romantic drama is directed by debutant director Nikkhil Advani. The film was written by Niranjan Iyengar and Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar and Karan Johar under their Dharma Productions banner.
Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of Aman is so endearing. He makes you what to smile through the tears. He makes you want to get up and grab life by both hands. He makes you believe in the “Aaj.. Kya pata, Kal Ho Na Ho.”
The soundtrack for the film was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar.
The film narrates the story of a pessimistic uptight student, Naina Kapur, who falls in love with her neighbour, Aman Mathur, a terminally ill patient who tries to play matchmaker for Naina and her friend, Rohit Patel. It takes us through the journey of first love, heartbreak, sacrifice, friendship, loyalty and family, all through innumerable laughs and a few tears.
Each and every thing in this movie, be it the writing, performances, songs, music and drama, everything comes together just perfectly, making this movie a film that has to be watched every time it plays on television.
